Located in the New England Region of the United States, along the eastern seaboard, Rhode Island is bordered by Connecticut to the west, Massachusetts to the north and east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Appropriately nicknamed, “The Ocean State”, Rhode Island has several large bays and inlets that amount to about 14% of its total area, and over 400 miles of coastline. The small, yet densely populated state, is loved for its many beaches, for the historic city of Newport, and for the capital city of Providence. From the unspoiled beaches of Block Island, the beautiful coastal farmland of Little Compton, to the city centers of Providence, there is much to enjoy.
